The Government has adopted the emergency ordinance draft which amends the Fiscal Code referring to the single return for social security liabilities, personal income tax and details of insured persons, affecting almost one million people who have incomes from independent activities.
It’s about the controversial declaration 600, whose submission deadline had been delayed until April 15, but without the first payment deadline being amended, which remained on March 25.
More precisely, the Government has massed seven fiscal declarations, including form 600, in one single return, stipulating that the tax liabilities for copyright should be withheld at source.
Finance minister Eugen Teodorovici stated that the payment will not be made in four tranches, but only once.
“That means that each taxpayer has these sums available, sums that should have been paid by the state, so there will be no more blockages,” the FinMin explained, adding that the mechanism is to stimulate taxpayers to submit this single return online. “For this we grant a 5% discount on the tax liabilities- tax return and social securities (health care and unemployment). Moreover, if taxpayers pay in advance for the incomes under way, by December 15, there is one more discount of 5%. So, a taxpayer could benefit of a 10% discount if he pays online and in advance,” Teodorovici said.
As for the copyright incomes, the minister announced there would be the version of withholding tax.
