Gov’t Ponta prepares a strategy to quarterly increase the minimum wage

Prime Minister Victor Ponta announced on Wednesday that the government has a quarterly growth strategy of the minimum wage for the next year, agerpres.ro informs.

Thus, the minimum wage is expected to reach RON 1,300 on July 1, 2016 and RON 1,400 on January 1, 2017.

“In our strategy we are going to take semestrial steps, as we’ve done so far; it seems that they were easily absorbed by both the public sector and by the private sector as well, because it applies to everyone,” Ponta said in a meeting of the National Tripartite Council for Social Dialogue on Wednesday.

PM stressed out that the data he submitted to the unions are ‘unofficial’.
