Gov’t vows old and new projects: new airport in Bucharest, national blood and stem cells bank, electric vehicles plant or tourist resort

Government has reloaded intention to launch some projects, such as the airport in the southern part of the Capital, while heralding new ones.

For instance, the Executive resumed the pledge to build Bucharest South airport, with PM Dancila announcing on Thursday they want to build it by  a private-public partnership.

The premier also said that Gov’t eyes a national blood and stem cells bank, a factory of electric vehicles or a tourist ski complex in Fagaras Massif.

We are adopting in today’s government sitting the second package of strategic investments to be carried out by public-private partnership, there are eight such strategic projects, the first five ones were adopted on May 24. Among them, three on healthcare, which shows the Government’s interest to improve the medical services,” Dancila said.

She revealed one project involves building a national bank to provide blood, human plasma and stem cells, considering the plasma crisis in Romania in the past year. At the same time, the Executive plans to build regional hospitals in Timisoara and Galati.

The Bucharest South Airport is an old time project, the last initiative in this regard dating back in 2016 when the location to host the airport has been mentioned, in Adunatii Copaceni.
