The National Meteorology Administration (ANM) has issued on Friday a warning for heavy rainfall and high atmospheric instability as of Saturday till Sunday, valid for the entire country.
During April 29, 10.00h-April 30, 18.00h the instability will be high and torrential rainfall is expected, lightning, strong wind and wind gusts, as well as hail on small areas.
The areas concerned are mainly in the hilly and mountainous regions, as well as in Oltenia, Transylvania, the northern half of Moldavia and locally in Muntenia.
The water quantities will locally exceed 20-25 litres per square metre and on isolated areas 35-40 litres per square metre, mainly in Southern Carpathians and the northern part of Eastern Carpathians.
In western Romania, atmospheric instability will begin to increase as of Friday afternoon and during the night of Friday to Saturday (April 28-29).
