The fires are the biggest housing threat for four of ten Romanians, one third say the biggest danger is the earthquake, according to a survey that shows that 15% of respondents are afraid of flooding with water from pipelines and 10 4% indicated threats from thieves.
Thus, 38.1% of respondents said that the biggest threat to their home is a fire at their home or at the neighbours, while 30.5% mentioned the earthquake, the results of a survey conducted in an information campaign on home insurance reveal.
On the other hand, landslides (pointed to by 1.8% of respondents) and floods (0.9%) occupied the last places in the top of threats feared by Romanians.
Almost 4 in 10 Romanians (37.2%) share travel photos on the social networks, while they are away on holiday. Also, 18% of respondents said that when they go on vacation they talk about this on Facebook or other social networks.
Only 23.1% of respondents believe that a mandatory household insurance offers sufficient protection for their home.
The information campaign in October was supported by the Pool of Insurance against Disasters (PAID) and the Association for Promoting Insurance (APPA), some 500,000 information booklets being distributed nationwide.
1,766 respondents were surveyed, men and women in equal shares, of which 62% live in blocks, and 78% live in a city.
