A Romanian left to work in Spain has won a mayor seat in a Spanish village. According to TVR, 39-year-old Aurel Tru?? would have never thought to run for the local elections if it hadn’t been for the Spanish Popular Party that endorsed him to eneter the race for the mayor seat in Paramo de Boedo village in Palencia region.
Despite the fact that quite few Romanian are living there, Tru?? was voted mainly by the Spaniards who appreciated his managing qualities.
Aurel Tru?? has been living in Spain for 15 years and for 8 years in Paramo de Boedo village that counts only 100 inhabitants. His wife is also highly cherished for the beauty salon she is running in the village.
Tru?? admits he has no experience in the local administration, but trusts the locals’ support. He will not be paid for his activity.
Local elections in Spain held on May 24 brought at least three Romanians in the public administration. Two of them have won seats as local councilors at Zaragoza and Castellon city halls.
