The European Commission on Monday approved 23 multiannual programs for migration worth EUR 2.4 billion through the Asylum and Migration Fund and through the Internal Security Fund. Romania could get almost EUR 100 M.
Most precisely, our country can access EUR 98.5 M through ISF, meaning over EUR 61 M through the borders and visas part and over EUR 37 M through the police cooperation part of the program. At the same time, EUR 180,000 is available for specific actions, EC informs in a press release.
The money is available for supporting the national efforts to improve border management and surveillance through modern technology. The funds can also be used in inter-nations operations and to boost the member states’ capacity to act in case of terrorism, violent extremism, drug and persons trafficking or other forms of organized crimes.
