How “Vlad Țepeș” Command Planned to Change Romania, in Treason Case

The “Vlad Tepes” command, which includes the six individuals detained by DIICOT on charges of treason, aimed to return to a single-party system of government, eliminate “diversionist agents”, restore ties with the Russian Federation and China, including the recovery of territories in Ukraine. At the same time, the group also proposed a leadership structure consisting of “councils of elders” or “committees of old men”.

DIICOT announced on March 6 that six Romanians had been detained on charges of treason. The group is called the “Vlad Țepeș Command Staff”. Prosecutors claim that the group wanted Romania to withdraw from NATO, abolish political parties, install a new government, remove all employees from state institutions, adopt a new constitution, and change the country’s name, flag, and anthem.

At the same time, the SRI revealed that the group was aided by two Russian diplomats, who had since been declared undesirable – the Russian military attaché in Bucharest and his deputy.

“Vlad Țepeș” Command Issues Warnings to Romanian Authorities

In recent days, the “Vlad Țepeș” Command has sent multiple notifications to Romanian institutions.

“Dear politicians, you have three days to inform the Romanian people about the national plundering that has occurred since the 1989 coup until today, and about the possibility of territorial disintegration following the coup, which you are aware of—some of you having done nothing in life except politics.”

This message, addressed to interim president Ilie Bolojan and the Romanian Government, was sent on February 19. The group further demanded that politicians urgently provide “explanations to the people,” warning that “in the near future, the people may no longer have patience with you.”

On the “Vlad Țepeș” Command’s website, a notification addressed to the European Union also refers to the 1989 Revolution as a “coup d’état” and claims that Romania’s governments have had “no Romanians, only foreigners.” Similar statements were sent to NATO, asserting that the alliance is stationed “on the sovereign, independent, and indivisible territory of the former Socialist Republic of Romania.”

The Group’s Demands

A retired general, Radu Theodoru (101), suspected in the treason case, appears as the group’s public figure. The group’s website lists their demands to politicians, including:

  • Immediate overhaul of the current “servant-state” system.
  • Replacement of the National Bank’s leadership.
  • Formation of a crisis government composed of certified experts with technical, scientific, and managerial experience.
  • Repeal of all “anti-Romanian” laws in economics, education, administration, healthcare, and culture.
  • Proclamation of Romania’s neutrality.
  • Restoration of mutually beneficial traditional alliances.
  • Abrogation of subordinate relations with Ukraine.
  • Renewal of economic and cultural ties with Russia, China, and Iran.
  • Reclaiming historical territories “forcibly taken by Ukraine or lost through treason by non-Romanians in government.”
  • Negotiations with Russia to annul the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact.
  • Elimination of compromised politicians, opportunists, and diversion agents.
  • Unification of political parties into a single entity capable of implementing a national program.

“Geția” – A Proposed New State

The group also envisions a radical reorganization under the name “Geția,” suggesting Romania would be renamed. Their proposed governance includes:

  • Nine ministries (e.g., the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of the People, and Ministry of the Land).
  • A Council of Sages with 13 members.
  • A Council of Elders with 130 elders.
  • Local committees of “moși/old men”, consisting of 1,300 senior members.
  • A hierarchical communication structure, where each sage relays information to 10 elders and vice versa.

Recruitment and Online Activity

The group has been active on social media, with links on their website directing to WhatsApp groups, a YouTube page (with 600+ followers), a Telegram channel (500 members), and a TikTok page.

A form titled “Enlistment in the Army of the Nation” is also available, alongside a donation page leading to “Adrian Robertin D.” (identified as Adrian Robertin Dinu), who appears in the group’s YouTube videos.

According to DIICOT, “Investigations have revealed that members of the organized criminal group recruited followers via online platforms and published video materials (including notifications addressed to Romanian state authorities, national and international organizations).”

So…, If I start a political group to resurrect the Monarchy in Romania using Margarita, will I be arrested?
