Inventor Corneliu Birtok Baneasa wins gold medal at the Exhibition of Inventions Geneva

Romanian engineer Corneliu Birtok Baneasa has won a gold medal and a special award from a professional association of science and technology in Hong Kong (Science & Techology Parks Corporation) for an invention which he presented at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva (April13-17).

The inventor from Deva city has presented at this year’s edition a device called ‘thermal deflector’ and which is used for equipping the vehicles during the summer in order to reduce engine power loss due to high temperatures.

Corneliu Birtok Baneasa explained that it is obtained a reduction in fuel consumption by 7%, and a decrease in emissions released into the atmosphere.

“Romanian inventions are known all over the world, not only in Geneva. It would be very good for these inventions to be put into practice in Romania, not in other countries, because it would be a shame to bring from abroad certain products made on the basis of Romanian inventions. I think it would be good for our economy if these inventions, innovations, become domestic products,” said the inventor.

Baneasa is a PhD engineer with the Polytechnic University of Timisoara in materials engineering. He obtained so far 28 gold medals at various international exhibitions of inventions in the country and abroad.

Romania was represented at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva by 30 inventors.
