Daniel Constantin Horodniceanu has received Monday a favourable notice from the Section for prosecutors of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) for the position of chief prosecutor of DIICOT; he received five votes “for” and two “against”.
Horodniceanu held the interview on Monday in the Section for prosecutors of the Superior Council of Magistracy.
In his management project Horodniceanu says he wants “to restore confidence within teams, especially at the central structure, that was affected, especially psychologically, after the events of the last quarter of 2014, which resulted in a blockage that caused a decrease in desire and performance of prosecutors,” Horodniceanu said referring to the arrest of the former DIICOT chief Alina Bica.
CSM’s positive notice is to be sent on Tuesday to the Ministry of Justice and will accompany the proposal that will be submitted by Justice Minister Robert Cazanciuc to President Klaus Iohannis for Horodniceanu’s appointment to the position of DIICOT chief prosecutor.
Justice Minister Robert Cazanciuc says Daniel Horodniceanu is the best possible nominee for the position of head prosecutor of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT).
“I have no information whatsoever leading to the conclusion that Daniel Horodniceanu would not be the best nomination for DIICOT’s leadership. He is a team player, he is a man who knew how to perform in time at the DIICOT; he knew how to attract and keep around him people who wish to perform at the DIICOT, and I am positively convinced that he has no other agenda except DIICOT’s,” Cazanciuc declared on Monday.
