DNA Requests Lifting of Nelu Tătaru’s Parliamentary Immunity

The National Anticorruption Directorate requested an opinion from the Chamber of Deputies for the approval of the computer and home search in the file of the former Minister of Health Nelu Tataru, accused of bribery.

Nelu Tătaru is a PNL deputy, so prosecutors need parliamentary approval in the case of investigating a dignitary. The legal committee of the Chamber of Deputies will meet on Monday to discuss the DNA request.

The Permanent Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies approved the referral to the Legal Commission regarding the request for approval of the IT and home search in the case of Nelu Tătaru. The meeting of the Legal Commission will take place on Monday, at 1:00 p.m.

The Minister of Justice, Alina Gorghiu, also today sent the president of the Chamber of Deputies the request to lift the parliamentary immunity in the sense of approving the carrying out of the procedures regarding the search in the case of the former Minister of Health Nelu Tătaru, announced the Ministry of Justice.

Nelu Tătaru was put under criminal investigation, on Thursday, by the prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate in a file in which he is accused of receiving bribes, as a doctor, sums of money between 100 and 500 lei, as well as food products.
