DNA requires Dan Sova’s arrest

The National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) prosecutors have asked on Friday morning permission for the arrest of PSD Senator Dan Sova, for complicity to abuse of office in the file researches are made in regard to energy companies Rovinari and Turceni, digi24.ro informs.

In accordance with the legal and constitutional, chief prosecutor of the National Anticorruption Directorate – Mrs. Laura Kovesi has sent to the attorney general upon the High Court of Cassation and Justice – (ICCJ – Supreme Court) the report of the file, in view of informing the Senate, in view of drawing the application for a declaration of apprehension and arrest of Senator Sova Dan-Coman of committing three crimes of complicity in abuse of office, the DNA request reads.

Former transport minister said on Friday morning, while leaving the National Anticorruption Directorate headquarters, that he had been summoned by DNA on “procedural issues, as some new documents have been presented. They received some documents, there are some internal procedural matters,” Sova told the journalists, without other comments on the DNA request for arrest, hotnews.ro reports.

The prosecutors say they have data and clues that Sova has submitted several false documents in the file he is investigated in, in an attempt to prove his innocence. Moreover, he ordered the destruction of all computer hard disks of the lawyers’ company in the attempt to hide the e-mail correspondence between the law firm and the management of the two power complexes.

According to a press release from the anti-corruption prosecutors, the criminal investigation documents reveal that during 2007-2009, Dan Sova has signed several contracts and addenda concluded between Rovinari Energy Complex (CER) and Turceni Energy Complex (CET) on one side and the SCA “Sova and Associates” on the other side.

Prosecutors also concluded that, as a “managing lawyer” – note expressly mentioned in these contracts – he participated to many talks related to the subject of the documents, went to the headquarters of CER and CET and other institutions, effectively contributing to the concluding of these contracts and the addenda. In addition, he has also provided legal advice under these contracts and addenda.
