District 1 Court on Friday brought new details about the re-opening procedure of the Mihaileanu house file targeting former president Traian Basescu.
The court explains the investigation in this case was hooked on because Traian Basescu benefited of immunity as president, but the deeds were not prescribed and the case was re-opened, as “the reason that prevented the prosecution was gone”.
Traian Basescu is to be investigated for abuse of office, forgery in official statements and use of forgery, according to District 1 Court.
Prosecutors with the High Court of Cassation and Justice asked the court to confirm the re-opening of the investigation regarding the way that the former president acquired the house on Mihaileanu street during his mayor term.
Initially, Traian Basescu rented the house, then acquired a floor of the building during his term as Bucharest mayor.
