Former Minister Cristian David up before DNA by warrant

Former Minister Cristian David was brought by warrant to the National Anti-corruption Department (DNA) on Wednesday, Agerpres informs. According to sources he was to be heard in the file in which he is accused of bribe taking and money laundering.

On November 19, 2014 former President Traian Basescu announced he had requested the start of criminal investigation against David. Basescu said that the DNA documentation sent to the Prosecutor General’s office reads David is suspected of EUR 500,000 bribe taking for facilitating the issuing a property title for 15 hectares by a Prefect.

According to the DNA, former minister Cristian David allegedly requested EUR 500,000 in 2007 and received the money on February 1, 2008 from an informant.
