Police are conducting searches at the FameUp company, through which recruitment and payments were made to influencers for the campaign in favor of Călin Georgescu in the first round of the presidential elections, sources close to the investigation told G4Media.
According to the cited sources, it is the FameUp platform on which promotional ads are posted, the place where micro-influencers choose which brands, products or services they promote.
The sources specified that at this moment six of these TikTok influencers who received money for promoting Călin Georgescu’s hashtag are being questioned.
Candidate Călin Georgescu declared not only zero income, but also zero expenses in the electoral campaign. These statements raised questions in the public space, especially since, on the TiKTok network, the independent candidate Călin Georgescu benefited from a strong promotional campaign.
SRI showed in a declassified document that the financing of TikTok influencers was ensured through the FameUp platform (dedicated to monetizing promotional activities in the online environment), at which the advertising opportunity was published, along with well-defined descriptions.
