Anti-corruption prosecutors are conducting searches at the headquarters of the Capital’s District 3 City Hall, led by Robert Negoiță, judicial sources told HotNews,ro.
National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) announced that the prosecutors are investigating a criminal case concerning suspicions of corruption committed in the period 2015-2021, in connection with the issuance of administrative acts by the administrative-territorial authorities.
On Wednesday, in this file, home searches took place in 17 locations in Bucharest and Ilfov – the homes of individuals, the headquarters of some companies and the headquarters of a public institution, DNA also states. According to some judicial sources, the public institution where the searches take place is the District 3 City Hall, and the investigation would also target the management of the city hall, for facts including the issuing of authorizations for premises on Unirii boulevard.
During 2013-2015, the District 3 City Hall rearranged the sidewalks on bld. Unirii, and immediately after the redevelopment in the area between Unirii Square and the National Library, 9 terraces appeared on the portion where there used to be green space. Initially, the terraces were only on the ground floor, but now they also have a second floor.
Robert Negoiță is in his third term as District 3 mayor, having been elected for the first time in 2012.
