Several Italians illegally obtained nurse diplomas in Romania

On Monday, the police conducted searches in Mureș and Ilfov, targeting a health post-secondary school in Mureș county that, for five years, fictitiously educated Italian citizens who later received diplomas of nurses.
According to the Romanian Police, the police officers of the Economic Crime Investigation Department are carrying out 12 searches in the counties of Ilfov and Mureș, in a file under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Mureș Court, in which investigations are being carried out for the crimes of constituting an organized criminal group, intellectual fraud, use of forgery and disclosure of secret service or non-public information, to several investigated persons.
Starting in 2019, a post-secondary school would have developed an illegal mechanism, consisting in the fictitious schooling of Italian citizens who do not know the Romanian language and who did not attend courses and internships. Italians were issued diplomas for practicing the profession of senior nurse on the territory of the European Union. The police say that eight people are targeted, who will be picked up and taken to the Police for questioning.
