Tate Brothers Rearrested, for Committing Sexual Crime Charges in UK, EAW Issued

UK lawyer: Andrew Tate planned to flee Romania.

Brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate were detained on Monday evening, based on European arrest warrants issued in Great Britain. They are charged with sexual offenses in Great Britain.

Police confirmed the arrest of two brothers, Andrew and Tristan Tate, on Tuesday morning. On March 11 this year, around 11:15 p.m., the police officers of the Criminal Investigation Service, the Special Actions Service and police officers from the Volunteers implemented two European arrest warrants, issued by the judicial authorities in Great Britain, for committing sexual offences, exploiting some people in the territory of Great Britain.

The two men were presented to the prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Bucharest Court of Appeal, who ordered the measure of detention for 24 hours, against those in question.”

In June 2023, the two brothers were sent to court for constituting an organized criminal group, continuous human trafficking and continuous rape.

“Through the indictment dated 15.06.2023, the prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Central Structure ordered the sending to court (under house arrest) of 4 defendants, two people with dual citizenship, British and American , and two Romanian citizens, for committing the crimes of constituting an organized criminal group, human trafficking in a continuous form (in relation to each individual defendant, four material acts, three material acts, six material acts and, respectively, five material acts relative to the number of injured persons), continued rape (two material acts), illegal access to the computer system, alteration of the integrity of computer data, instigation to hit or other violence and hitting or other violence. In the case it was noted that, at the beginning of 2021, the four defendants constituted an organized criminal group with a view to committing the crime of human trafficking on the territory of Romania, but also of other countries, such as the United States of America and Great Britain”, announced DIICOT.

During the criminal investigation, the prosecutors identified seven women who “were subjected to the execution of a work, by force, in order to obtain important financial benefits consisting of the sums of money collected as a result of accessing the materials by the users of the platforms“.

“Among the 7 injured persons who were sexually exploited by the organized criminal group, three became civil parties in the criminal process”, said DIICOT.

The Tate brothers were detained and subsequently arrested, after five searches took place on December 29, 2022, in Bucharest and Ilfov County, at the homes owned by them, as well as by their two accomplices.

Later, at the beginning of January, 7 other searches took place in Bucharest, Ilfov and Prahova in the file in which they are being investigated. In April 2023, the two were placed under house arrest, and in August 2023, the measure of house arrest was replaced by judicial control.

According to McCue Jury & Partners , the law firm representing the four British women who accused Andrew Tate of rape and serious physical and sexual assault, Andrew Tate, allegedly planned to flee Romania.

According to the law firm, it received information last week that Tate was planning to flee Romania, the Associated Press reports, which is why it asked the British police to “immediately request a warrant” for the arrest and extradition of the influencer.

“Today’s news is welcome, as it was a significant concern for many that Tate would try to avoid justice in Romania and abroad,” said Matthew Jury, executive partner of the law firm. We are grateful to the British authorities for taking our concerns seriously and issuing a warrant for his arrest. Tate is accused of serious crimes against a large number of victims and must be brought to justice,” said lawyer Matthew Jury. He added that since Tate was arrested in Romania, he had “spread a large amount of misinformation about the criminal charges he faces in the UK” in high-profile interviews with popular media figures such as Tucker Carlson and Piers Morgan.

Tate brothers deny charges

The Tate brothers denied, through a press release, the charges for which they were again taken into police custody. They claim that allegations of “alleged sexual assaults” committed several years ago in the UK were dismissed by the British Public Prosecutor’s Office between 2017 and 2019.
The brothers say they are “appalled and deeply affected” after charges of “alleged sexual assault” between 2012 and 2015 were dismissed by the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service in 2019.
“In a dramatic turn of events last night, on March 11, 2024, brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate were detained for 24 hours and served with a European Arrest Warrant by British authorities. The allegations, relating to the period 2012-2015, include alleged sexual assaults, which were previously dismissed and closed by the Public Prosecution Service (CPS) in 2017-2019. The Bucharest Court of Appeal is to decide today on the execution of the mandate.
This attempt to reconsider over a decade old allegations surprised the Tate brothers, leaving them dismayed and deeply affected. They categorically deny all the allegations and express their deep disappointment that such serious allegations are being brought up again without significant new evidence. The Tate brothers say the timing and circumstances under which these allegations are being re-evaluated raise serious questions about the motives behind this legal action. The timing suggests that their notoriety may play a role. Andrew and Tristan vehemently deny all allegations and condemn what they perceive as an exploitation of the legal system. They are determined to challenge these allegations with determination and vigor. The brothers emphasize their faith in a fair and impartial legal process, despite their troubling circumstances,” the press release claims.
“In the face of adversity, the Tate brothers find support from loved ones, friends and their legal team. They call for a fair examination of the facts, expressing the belief that a careful review will show the baselessness of the allegations against them. As the Bucharest Court of Appeal convenes today, the Tate brothers are making a public appeal for the court to consider the far-reaching implications of this case and the potential impact on justice and the legal process. They remain determined in their pursuit of truth and justice, trusting that the legal system will eventually rehabilitate them,” the press release issued on behalf of the two Tate brothers further states.
