Judges from Tulcea have sentenced a man who killed a dog by repeated knife strokes to six months in prison, which is a first in Romania. The animal was not posing any threat at the moment of the incident, as he was chained in the paddock, radioconstanta.ro reports.
The magistrates considered the man’s deed as revolting the more he hasn’t showed any sign of regret, on the contrary his clear intention was to kill the four-footed.
Moreover, it’s not the first time the man has legal problems, as he is known for being violent in the family as well.
So, on these grounds, but also to prevent other potential crimes, the judge decided to put the man behind bars. However, the ruling is not final and can be challenged in a different court.
