Another death caused by measles was reported in Romania, with the death toll climbing to 33, the National Center of Surveillance and Control of Infectious Diseases has announced on Friday.
The 33th victim is a 10-month baby girl suffering of malnutrition and severe psychomotor retard. The baby, an Iraqi citizen, entered Romania in Timis county on July 7. She has been confirmed with measles this month.
At the end of July, a 29-year-old person has died because of measles complications in Dolj county. The patient had been confirmed with measles in February and in June the first post-measles complications have emerged.
Deaths caused by measles were reported in Timis (ten cases), six in Arad, seven in Dolj, three in Caras Severin, in eight in Bihor, Cluj Calarasi, Satu Mare,Vaslui, Galați, Mureș and Bucharest (one case in each of these counties).
