This month of April in Romania is a month of extremes. After going through severe winter phenomena, with snowfall and blizzard, now summer temperatures are announced. It will be 28 degrees in the shade, meteorologists say. There will also be periods of Saharan dust and strong winds. There are weather alerts until Friday.
“At least until the end of the month, as the information at this time shows, we expect the temperature values to characterize normal weather from a thermal point of view, specific to the period in the calendar, and from the middle of this week even warmer than usual, starting from Wednesday, when we expect the temperatures in the western part of the country to reach and slightly exceed the threshold of a summer day – 25, even 26 degrees, so that Thursday will bring even higher values - 27, possibly 28 degrees, also in the western part of the country”, Elena Mateescu, director of the National Meteorological Agency, told Digi24.
“For the period 14-18 April, given the predominantly southwesterly circulation, which should favor the advance from northern Africa of an air mass loaded with dust particles of Saharan origin towards southeastern Europe and implicitly also in our country, we will observe dust deposits, especially during the intervals when it will rain”, she added.
