More than 1,800 Romanian and 300 American soldiers take part to ‘SWORD 15.2 JUSTICE’ exercise

More than 1,800 Romanian soldiers of the land forces, with 450 technical means and 300 US troops, 90 technical means will take part, during October 26-November 6, in the Smardan shooting range, Galati County, to the exercise ‘JUSTICE SWORD 15.2’.
According to a release issued by the Romanian Defence Ministry, the Romanian military in the 282nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade ‘Unirea Principatelor’ are supported by subunits of 52nd Regiment Mixed Artillery ‘General Alexander Tell’, by Battalion 30 Mountain Troops ‘Dragoslavele’, by 630 Parachute Battalion ‘Smaranda Braescu’ and by elements of Military Intelligence Brigade ‘Marshal Alexandru Averescu’, by 1st Battalion CIMIC and by the Psychological operations Centre.
The land forces are supported by MiG 21 LanceR fighting planes, by IAR 330 Puma Socat helicopters and by one C-27J Spartan aircraft, all belonging to the Romanian Air Forces.
The US soldiers are part of the Battalion 5 of the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the US Army land forces deployed in Europe and will act for the first time in Romania, with Abrams tanks, Bradley fighting vehicles and self-propelled PALADIN guns.
