New drone attack on Romania’s border: The Russians bombed the Orlivka customs, near Isaccea

A new Russian drone attack on Romania’s border, on the Danube, took place last night. Reni port and Orlivka customs were hit, across the Danube from the Romanian town of Isaccea. There is a ferry crossing point for goods and passengers to Romania. A grain warehouse was damaged in Reni. And at Orlivka the ferry crossing was temporarily stopped.

As a result of the night attack by Shahed drones, Ukraine has temporarily suspended operations at the Orlivka ferry crossing point, writes Ukrainskaia Pravda, citing a statement from the border police.

“As a result of the nocturnal attack by enemy drones on the port and border infrastructure, measures are being taken to stabilize operations at the Orlivka ferry crossing point on the border with Romania. No one was injured in the attack. Operations at the checkpoint have been temporarily suspended,” the border police service announced.

All vehicles are diverted to other destinations. Citizens are asked to take these temporary circumstances into account when planning a trip to or from Romania, the source said. “You can choose other destinations, including through the car crossing from Reni. The resumption of crossing operations at Orlivka will be announced later,” the Ukrainian border police said.

Traffic through the Romanian customs Isaccea was also completely closed due to the attacks from Ukraine last night, and the two barges that ensure the crossing of the Danube are anchored on the Romanian shore, Coast Guard representatives announced.

Coast Guard representatives reported on Friday that due to the closure of the Isaccea customs, exiting traffic is being redirected to Galati Rutier.

Traffic through the customs of Isaccea is completely closed due to tonight’s attacks from the Ukrainian side (customs Orlovka). Thus, exiting traffic is redirected to Galati Rutier. The two ferries that ensure the crossing of the Danube from one side to the other are anchored on the Romanian shore“, stated the border police.
