The nephew of late King Michael, Nicolae Medforth-Mills, has asked his aunt, Crown Custodian Margareta, to accept being his wedding godmother. The former prince has made the announcement in Alba Iulia (central Romania) where he is attending a series of activities, stiri.tvr.ro informs.
“I wrote a letter last week to my aunt, Princess Margareta, and I have asked her if she would honour me to be my wedding godmother and that my uncle becomes our wedding godfather. I am waiting for an answer. I hope they will accept. It would be a great honour for us and we will be very happy if they accept. All the family would,” Nicolae said.
The nephew of King Michael is to wed in religious ceremony Alina Binder on September 30, at Church Sf. Ilie (St. Elijah) in Sinaia.
Guests from 13 countries are expected, among them ambassadors and members of other royal families.
“It is a very happy moment for us and we can hardly wait to celebrate together with the family and our friends,” Nicolae said.
He said he would wear a Morning Coat suit for the religious ceremony and White Tie during the evening.
Nicolae visited on Monday a foundation in Alba Iulia, the Maria Beatrice centre, and met the students of ‘Horea, Closca si Crisan’ high school. He also had a meeting with Archbishop Irineu and visited the Reunion Cathedral.
