One of the football supporters investigated in the case on the violence during the anti-governmental protests in Victoriei Square early this month was placed under preventive arrest on Friday evening, while another five have been placed under judicial control, meaning they are are under restrictions pending trial.
The decision was taken by the District 1 Court, based on the evidence filed by the prosecutors, namely images captured on the night of February 1st when the violence acts occurred. Alexandru George Timinschi was captured hitting the gendarmes.
He was charged with abetment in abuse, abuse and public nuisance and he will be under preventive arrest for 30 days, from February 24 until March 25.
The judge also ordered judicial control for 60 days against five other supporters: Ionuţ Cristian Dinu, Andrei Lucian Dumitrescu, Răzvan Marian Radu, Alexandru Marius Boşcu and Daniel Ionuţ Ion.The court also ruled for the Răzvan Marian Radu’ s release.
Three other persons were already investigated under judicial control in the file on the violence acts during protests in Victoriei Square, Bucharest on the night of February 1st to February 2nd.
The Bucharest Police detained six in eight people on Thursday night for 24 hours following 13 searches conducted by prosecutors and policemen in Bucharest in the file on violence acts during protests early this month.
Over 3,000 pyrotechnics were found and taken over by police in Bucharest Thursday morning, following these house searches.
