The first stage of the population and housing census kicked off on Monday, March 14th. For two months, Romanians can fill in the official form online, by themselves. The census is an action that is taking place in all countries of the European Union and which, due to the pandemic, has been postponed for a year.
This is the first time that the population and housing counts will be 100% computerized. Another novelty is that Romanians will be able to self-review.
The National Institute of Statistics has prepared a platform, www.recensamantromania.ro, which can be accessed online.
The census platform will be up and running from March 14. The questionnaire takes between 10 and 20 minutes to complete. Self-review can be done from any mobile phone – smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer.
People have to access www.recensamantromania.ro, with a link leading to the self-review platform being generated. A pre-registration form will be completed, based on the personal identification number (CNP). Subsequently, on the e-mail address mentioned, the actual questionnaire will be received, with specific questions.
