Several parents of the children diagnosed with the hemolytic uremic syndrome intend to sue the state, slamming that the authorities have poorly managed this case. The grandfather of the third baby who died from this syndrome informed the parents would make an association.
Alexandru Anghel argued that the parents want to know what happened to their children and want somebody to assume responsibility on that.
“I want somebody to tell me what happened to my granddaughter. This is my only wish. However, somebody must answer for what happened. We and the other families will join in an association and we’ll sue the institutions that haven’t done their job,” the grandfather said.
Three babies coming from Arges county died from the hemolytic uremic syndrome after being transferred to “Marie Curie” hospital in Bucharest.
Seven children diagnosed with the same syndrome are still admitted to this hospital, with four of them being hospitalized at the nephrology ward, while other three are at the intensive care unit.
42 children are admitted with digestive infections to several hospitals in Arges county, while two children, who have already been transferred to Bucharest, were confirmed with rotavirus infection.
On the other hand, Health minister Patriciu Achimaş-Cadariu stated that the international experts from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control arrived in Bucharest on Thursday to help investigate this case.
