Passports to be delivered by mail

The National Post Company will deliver individual passports to the holders as of April 1, after it won a RON 495,000 contract allowing it to deliver up to 45,000 travel documents at the citizens’ residence over a two-year span.

According to the framework agreement, every dispatch will be 100 percent insured for the amount of 300 lei. The Romanian Post will provide to the recipient an online verification instrument for the person to check on the delivery status, and will also inform the citizen by phone message of the delivery date. The operator will also inform the recipient about the fees charged for this service. In performing this contract, which implies the dispatch of 22,500 to 45,000 passports, the Romanian Post shall observe the legislation on the protection of personal data.
