The Cybersecurity Innovation Center’s pilot project was launched in Bucharest in Wednesday within the Regional Cybersecurity Summit.
The pilot project is part of a grant agreement signed in June last year between CERT-RO and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, which paid USD 400,175 for the feasibility study development. Fidelis Cybersecurity company joined the project, advancing USD 400,800. CERT-RO – Romanian National Computer Security Incident Response Team- provided the infrastructure, meaning the headquarters (22 Italian street in Bucharest), equipment and the human resources.
The American side provided the expertise, the military technologies and the software parts. The technologies are very expensive and represent a first for the entire Europe.
The Cybersecurity Innovation Center is also unique in our region, and is meant to provide the cooperation framework among the governments and the cybersecurity agencies in the region.
According to CERT-RO general manager for Hotnews, the feasibility study is expected to be concluded by autumn.
Romanian PM Victor Ponta and Deputy Secretary of Commerce Bruce Andrews attended the opening.
