Polar air to hit Romania, weather gets colder, temperatures drop 10-15 degrees

The weather is getting colder in Romania as of this week, following the polar air that is hitting the entire continent. The chill will first seize the north area of the country, with temperatures dropping 10 to 15 degrees in northern region. The chilling will be felt in the rest of the regions as well starting on Wednesday.

Romanian weathermen have issued alerts and code yellow warnings, valid as of today (23:00) until Wednesday (8 a.m.), with wind blasts reaching even 120 kmph and temporary rainfall in the west and north at first, then in other regions as well. There will be mixed falls in the mountains.

The National Meteorology Administration has issued a code yellow alert for strong wind valid on Monday, during 02:00 to 10:00hr, in Banat, Crisana, Maramures, Transylvania, northern Moldavia and the mountain area. Wind will blow with 55-65kmph, with blasts even reaching 65-70kmph and 100-100kmph in the mountains.

Another code yellow warning for strong wind is in force on Monday, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. in de Oltenia, Moldavia, Dobruja, locally in Muntenia and Transylvania.

In the south temperatures will still be high on Monday, reaching 28-30C, including in Bucharest, but in the north, there will be lower temperatures even by 13-15 degrees, so to speak there will be summer in the south and autumn in the north. The polar cold air will be felt stronger in the southern Romania as of Wednesday.
