Businessman Remus Truica (photo), defendant in the illegal land restitution file of Baneasa Farm, along with Prince Paul, Dan Andronic and others, was pulling the strings in 2008 for Prince Paul to get a government job, similar to the one of Prince Radu Duda, the son-in-law of King Mihai.
Truica intended to prove his business partners he has the necessary political levers to get the positive decisions regarding restitutions, by which the damages to the state amount to EUR 136 million, ‘Adevarul’ reports.
Radu Duda was the government’s Special Representative for Integration during September 2002-September 2008, during Prime Ministers Adrian Nastase and Calin Popescu Tariceanu.
The file includes a relevant wiretapping with Remus Truica:
Truica: OK. We’ve asked his friend, the younger one, to help us by offering our client a special position to represent Romania in the Diaspora, for the Romanians abroad. (…) He said, it’s OK. It’s a good idea, he could do good things abroad, he knows a lot of people, has a lot of connections. The high society in Europe will welcome him.
Interlocutor: OK.
Truica: We don’t want a paid position. Why? Because they offered Radu Duda a similar position and we don’t want to stay behind. It’s good to get such a position from a pragmatic point of view. We are negotiating some percentages for large issues with him. If we offer him such a position, we’ll have an instrument to negotiate with him… the way I want.
Interlocutor: I’ve got it perfectly.
Truica: For him is not a big deal. If I were there (Remus Truica was chief of cabinet for former PM Adrian Nastase) I could have solved the problem in maximum two days.
Interlocutor: I see. He has to explain him why this position is offered, but there’s no problem. (…)
Truica: With this position we solve a lot of great issues. And for him is very easy.
