Romania Receives €1.7 Billion from EU for Research and Innovation

The Minister of Digitization, Bogdan Ivan, announces that the unlocking of 1.7 billion euros for strategic research and innovation projects has been approved by the European Commission.
After 2 years of negotiations, the European Commission approved the release of 1.7 billion euros for strategic projects in research and innovation! This happened because the MCID did its job, and the European Commission considered the favorable condition ‘Good governance of the national or regional smart specialization strategy’, under our coordination. Their work well done provides reimbursement from European funds for 10 programs within the Cohesion Policy. The investments will cover all regions of the country. Through all these financings, we are building an ecosystem of innovation in Romania and supporting the entrepreneurs in the field, the brilliant Romanians who develop cutting-edge technologies and bring added value to the economy and industry”, said the minister.
