The Ministry of National Defense (MApN) wants to buy deployable shelters for the temporary housing or camouflage of fixed-wing fighter aircraft from the Romanian Air Force, as well as those of Romania’s defense partners. These are “aircraft that perform defense missions on the national territory and beyond,” according to a document from the institution, quoted by Profit.ro.
The maximum total value of the framework agreement is estimated at 272 million lei plus VAT, and offers can be submitted until February 13. Available data shows that, currently, the Romanian Air Force has a staff of 164 aircraft.
The shelters, consisting of metal structures with textile covering, will be delivered to the Boboc, Bacău, Târgu Mureș, Mihail Kogălniceanu and Borcea air bases.
MApN is considering concluding a framework agreement for a maximum quantity of 48 shelters, of which 16 without a protective wall and 32 with a protective wall made of modular concrete blocks with Lego-type joints, which would protect against possible explosions or fires.
