A Romanian immigrant who threatened Muslims after Paris terror attacks has been detained near Toulouse Great Mosque (photo) on Friday. The man was bearing a knife, police sources told France3 TV station.

According to the quoted sources, the 34-year-old Romanian took a cab on Friday morning to reach the Great Mosque in Toulouse, located in Empalot district. One of his acquaintances warned the local Police that the Romanian would have intended “to kill a Muslim”.

The man was detained in front of the mosque soon after he arrived. The knife he was bearing had a 20-centimeter blade.

The Romanian national was charged with illegal possession of arms and death threats abuse.

According to the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Romanian would have a mental affection. He is to be medically investigated, while magistrates are expected to give a verdict on Monday.

Tens of anti-Muslim actions have been registered in France after last week’s terror attacks that claimed 17 dead, the Observatory against anti-Islam in France informed, asking for the security reinforcement near the French mosques.
