Romanian inventor wins gold medal at Geneva

Romanian engineer from Deva Corneliu Birtok Baneasa won the gold medal of the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva and the special mentions of the delegations of Iran and of the Republic of Moldova, for his “Good Fill” system to fill the cars with windshield washer fluid in the gas station.

‘The international jury appreciated the environmental impact of giving up PET plastic canisters currently used for windshield washer fluids. Many drivers throw away these plastic containers and do not recycle them, thus contributing to pollution,’ the engineer told Agerpres.

According to the inventor, his ‘Good Fill’ system is especially beneficial to companies that own large car fleets. The eco-friendly invention drops out the need for plastic containers for fluid, while allowing to choose among several types of solutions — winter, summer, non-allergenic, scented, etc. The device has the shape of a two-meter drop and is provided with several pumps according to the type of the washer fluid needed by the drivers.

Four ambulances of SMURD Hunedoara were equipped for with special filters invented by Birtok for free, at the beginning of this year.

The Romanian engineer’s inventions have won many prizes over the years at the invention salons in Geneva, Moscow, Kuwait and Romania. Birtok also won the gold medal at Geneva in 2010 with a dynamic device transferring the air, which decreases the fuel consumption and polluting emissions.

More than 1,000 inventions competed at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva from April 15 to 19; Romania raced with 25 inventions.
