Romanian serving a life sentence for murder in Germany extradited

German authorities extradited Sebastian Dan Geczi Kis from Germany to serve his life sentence in Romania. The Romanian has been sentenced for killing, together with another Romanian national, German musician Dieter Kahlen, member of the Do it Again band on the night of 24 to 25 October 2012.

The man was brought in Bucharest early on Friday, after the Klave Court in Germany had extradited him for serving the jail sentence in Romania. 26-year-old Romanian man was found guilty for felony murder and robbery.

Sebastian Kis will be incarcerated at the Rahova Penitentiary for the next three weeks and after that he will be transferred to a maximum-security prison.

The crime occurred on the night of October 24 to October 25 at Dieter Kahlen’s residence. The musician was supposed to go to Cyprus at the date when the crime was committed but he chose to stay home for unknown reasons.

His body was found out by the police three days after the crime had been committed, when the musician’s 91-year-old mother notified the Police over his disappearance.

Investigators established that more valuable goods were missing from his house, including his Mazda CX5 car.

The investigation has been extended and the vehicle was found in Bihor county, Romania, with the police officers also tracking down the crime’s authors, Sebastian Dan Geczi Kis and his cousin Emeric Geczi Kis.

Both of them were sent to Germany, where the judges gave Sebastian a life sentence, while his cousin was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
