Romanians apologize, personally, on the website of the Japanese Embassy in Bucharest, for the ‘lack of courtesy’ regarding the visit of PM Shinzo Abe

Romanians have apologized to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the Facebook page of Japan’s Embassy in Bucharest for the “lack of courtesy” of the Romanian authorities, as the Japanese official has to cancel his visit to Victoria Palace on Tuesday, following the resignation of PM Mihai Tudose on Monday.

“To His Excellency, Ambassador Kisaburo Ishii. I personally would like to welcome the Japanese Prime Minister to our country where I would have liked to be welcomed with due respect by the Romanian authorities. I apologize, as a citizen, for the lack of courtesy of government representatives,” A. Argesiu wrote, according to Romanian media.

Another person apologized, ‘as Romanian citizen’, for the fact that the welcoming of the Japanese Prime Minister was not done in the proper manner.

“You know very well that the Romanians are hospitable and attentive people but, unfortunately, they are poorly guided!,” a message reads.

“As a simple Romanian citizen I apologize for the way in which the Government of my country treated this official visit!” and “Welcome to our country and I assure you that the Romanian people respect you. You are an example people for us and we want to strengthen friendship and economic relations,” other messages posted on the Facebook page of the Japanese Embassy in Bucharest read.

The apologies are presented as messages for the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s visit to Romania.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had to change his schedule on Tuesday because of the resignation of Prime Minister Mihai Tudose. The Japanese guest cancelled the visit at Victoria Palace and accompanied his wife, Akie Abe, to the Village Museum in Bucharest.
