Romanians bring final tribute to Queen Anne at Royal Palace in Bucharest

Hundreds of people have already paid their homage on Thursday at the Royal Palace in Bucharest to Queen Anne. People have laid flowers and wreaths.

The staff of the Royal House takes care of all the visitors entering the gate of the Royal Palace, so no one should wait in line to reach the Throne Room, where the body of Her Majesty Queen Ana of Romania lays covered with the national flag and by the insignia of the monarchy, romania-actualitati.ro reports.

Upon entering the palace there are guards of honour, as well as at the Queen’s bier.

Some of the people waiting to enter the palace believe Romania would have been different if it had returned to monarchy, due to the moral conduct of the royal family, which would have forced the political class to behave different after 1989.

The Royal Palace’s gates remain open until 22:00h on Thursday and on Friday, and the Royal House recommends visitors to wear dark clothes for the solemnity of the moment. On Saturday Queen Anne is to be buried at Curtea de Arges.
