Romania has the first hospital on the roof, according to digi24.ro. It’s about the Emergency Hospital in Oradea, where the heliport’s installing lasted three years and cost RON 1 million, the money coming from donations, hospital budget and Ministry of Health.
The heliport will shorten by almost half an hour the time until people in serious condition get up on the operating table.
Oradea is one of the most important centers of harvesting organs for transplantation in Romania, and the existence of a heliport will shorten the way of these organs to persons whose life depend on them.
Once put into use, the heliport may be used, on average, twice a day, local doctors estimate.
