Romania’s Largest Crane, 600 Tons, Builds Road Bridge Near Oradea

The largest crane in Romania was brought to the construction site of a road bypassing the city of Oradea. It is used to mount the girders of a road crossing over the DN76, near Băile Felix. Traffic will be stopped today in different time intervals on this section.

On the construction site of the Oradea metropolitan ring, the second belt of the city, 17 kilometers long, five beams of 62 tons each are being installed above the national road 76.

For this, a giant 600-ton crane was brought here, with which this operation is done. Road traffic was stopped around 9:00 a.m. for 30 minutes while the installation of such a beam lasts.

During the day, road traffic will be temporarily closed four more times, for the installation of the other beams. The metropolitan ring of the municipality of Oradea costs over 150 million lei and was made with funds from the Anghel Saligny program, from the Oradea City Hall and from CJ Bihor. It would be put into traffic in 2025.

The viaduct for which the crane was brought is 400 meters long and has 8 spans with 5 beams each.
