Anti-corruption prosecutors have conducted searches at the Interior Ministry HQs, in the office of one of the minister Gabriel Oprea’s advisers, who is suspect of corruption, judicial sources told Mediafax. Ingrid Mocanu Popa is suspected of disclosing official secret information. Prosecutors have seized her computer, documents and other evidence.
The quoted sources unveiled that the Ministry’ s deputy secretary general, Mihai Sova is also targeted in this file.
The adviser, as well as the deputy secretary general were taken for hearings at the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) headquarters.
DNA informed in a press release only that investigations are ongoing in a case related to corruption crimes allegedly committed by employees of the Interior Ministry. Prosecutors also say they are supported by the Interior Ministry’ s intelligence department –DIPI.
