Searches in Romania and Bulgaria in a file concerning tax evasion in car trade

Police have conducted 14 searches Tuesday morning in Romania and Bulgaria, in a file of tax evasion in car trade. The searches aimed places located in Bucharest and the counties of Ilfov, Ialomita, Galati and Sibiu. The damage is estimated at RON 1,360,000.

Bucharest Police informs in a press release that “during December 2015-March 2016, several individuals, through a company registered in Bulgaria, have conducted intra-community car acquisitions, allegedly selling them on Romanian territory. By using a company registered in Bulgaria, the suspects have hidden the incomes related to the sales, with damages to the state of RON 1,360,000. The searches at the Bulgarian company are made by the Bulgarian authorities.”

Eleven persons have been brought to hearings at the Economic Crimes Investigation Department of the District 2 Police.
