63 pc of Romanians crave for sweets

For 63 percent of the Romanians sweets rank first in the top of the food they like most, while carbohydrates and fast food represent a priority on the list of food cravings for 3 out of 10 Romanians, reads a survey conducted in February and quoted by Mediafax.

Regarding the attitude of Romanians towards culinary cravings, over 60 percent of the respondents say they go for it with no regrets. On the other side, 3 of 10 respondents manage to restrain their food cravings, while 2 of 10 Romanians say yes to them, but afterwards they think about the negative effects.

When it comes to the frequency of food cravings, 63.11 percent of respondents said that they happen to have a food craving often and very often.

Sports is the preferred solution for approximately 35 percent of the respondents who used to consume food rich in fats and sugar, while about 26 percent of the respondents turn to food diets or detox. Weight loss supplements are preferred by more than 20 percent of respondents, and are usually added to diet and combined with sports.

The afternoon and the evening are the key-moments when food cravings intensify and cakes, coffee and pizza represent the food that Romanians most often crave for.

Among the most coveted food and beverages there are fruit (68.53 percent), followed closely by chocolate (65.11 percent), cakes (57.21 percent), coffee (54.63 percent) and pizza (51, 43 percent).

The survey was conducted by XL-S Medical, on the Ivox online platform, February 3 to 11, on a sample of 4.683 respondents.
