The lacking medicine
Following the tragedy of the ‘Colectiv’ club, local media reported that the Romanian hospitals and ambulances don’t have an antidote against intoxications. The medicine is called Cyanokit and it was only Sunday that 20 boxes arrived in Romania. The medicine, approved by EU in 2007, is used in the cases of cyanide intoxications, it contains B12A vitamin and only one box costs EUR 700. The producing company writes on its website the medicine must be administered as quickly as possible after the cyanide exposure.
Cyanokit is a standard treatment in USA, UK or France in the cases of smoke intoxications.
