The former Education minister, Daniel Funeriu, was heard on Tuesday at the National Anticorruption Direction (DNA) in Microsoft file, being prosecuted for abuse of office.
On September 26, the DNA asked the initiation of criminal proceedings against nine former ministers from Nastase and Boc governments for corruption in Microsoft file. The nine ministers suspected by the DNA are: Ecaterina Andronescu, Valerian Vreme, Serban Mihailescu, Dan Nica, Adriana Ticau, Gabriel Sandu, Daniel Funeriu, Alexandru Athanasiu and Mihai Tanasescu. Each one of them are being accused with several charges such as bribery, except for Daniel Funeriu and Valerian Vreme who are prosecuted only for abuse of office.
On October 3, President Traian Basescu approved prosecution’s beginning for former ministers Adriana Ticau, Gabriel Sandu, Alexandru Athanasiu, Mihai Tanasescu and Daniel Funeriu.
