Famous nightclub in Bucharest’s old center, commercial center in Bacau closed down

Bucharest Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) closed down Nomad Skybar club in the old center of the Capital, following national campaign regarding conformation to the fire security standards.

A week ago, Princess club in Bucharest was also closed down and fine with RON 30,000.

At the same time, during November 5-12 ISU gave 105 orders worth RON 768,000 and 262 warnings for irregularities tracked down in nightclubs, bars, discos, concert halls or malls. Firemen discovered that many did not have enough escape exits, they lacked automatic fire detection systems.

“Luceafarul” commercial center in Bacau was also closed down due to deficiencies regarding fire security and the owner was fined by RON 100,000.

After Colectiv tragedy, firemen have conduced several checkouts to see if public spaces with high people influx are respecting fire security standards in case of fire. Following this check-up campaign, 37 locations in Bucharest and several counties have been closed down and sealed so that they could not be used anymore.

A thorough report on the results of the checking carried out in the past week will be presented on Friday.
