Romanian Foreign Ministry issues travel warnings for Canada and Ireland

The Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) has issued travel warnings for citizens travelling to Canada, for alerts regarding extreme low temperatures in Ontario (including Toronto), Quebec and Manitoba.

A MAE release on Thursday reads that temperatures are expected to drop to minus 30 degrees Celsius, even lower on isolated areas.

For Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and areas in Quebec have been issued warnings for Thursday and Friday for blizzards and strong winds up to 80-100 km/h, the release also reads.

MAE recommends travellers to access the Canadian website https://weather.gc.ca/warnings.

The Foreign Ministry also warns about travelling to Ireland for strong winds with Code Yellow in Wexford, Munster, Carlow, Kilkenny and Wicklow. The alert is a consequence of the Eleanor Storm which caused floods on the western coast of Ireland. Wind gusts reach 55-65 km/h and on isolated areas 90-100 km/h.
