Supreme Court leadership signs manifesto whereby 50 of the court’s magistrates demand the repeal of the ordinance on laws of justice

The High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ – Supreme Court) Chairwoman Cristina Tarcea (photo) and the two deputy chairpersons Gabriela Bogasin and Ilie Iulian Dragomir have signed on Wednesday the letter-manifesto whereby dozens of the ICCJ magistrates ask for the repeal of the emergency ordinance which has amended the laws of justice.

The manifesto initiated on Tuesday by the Supreme Court magistrates has been signed until now by 54 judges with the ICCJ, informs.

The 54 signatories request the repeal of emergency ordinance which amended the laws of justice, condemning the way it was adopted, without reason for emergency and without discussions with the magistrates, “with the worrying risk of ignoring the magistrates’ independence”.
