Renowned Romanian actors Oana Pellea, Florin Calinescu and Marius Manole are among the actors who have joined the civic campaign #FaraPenali (!NoMoreCriminals) supported by Save Romania Union (USR).
More actors who accepted to collect signatures for this campaign are Natalie Ester, Ilona Brezoianu, Marcela Motoc, Cristian Bota, Alex Călin, Olimpia Mălai and Maria Obretin.
„They will be the protagonists who will collect signatures in the Universitate Square for a week, so that people criminally convicted should stop leading Romania. The stage will be replaced by asphalt, and the spotlights by the rays of sunshine, (…)” reads a Facebook post by USR Constanta.
USR aims to submit a draft law to revise the Constitution in Parliament by the end of this year, in an attempt to ban people, who had been criminally convicted, from running in the local, general and presidential elections if they have deliberately committed crimes. The draft law needs at least 500,000 signatures of the citizens who have the right to vote from at least half of the Romanian counties.
