The domestic institutions Romanians trust most remain the Army, the Gendarmerie and the Church and in respect to international institutions the standings are dominated by NATO, followed by the UN and the EU, reveals an INSCOP survey conducted during September 10-15.
The INSCOP – ‘Adevarul’ survey, ranking domestic confidence in political institutions puts the Presidency on top – 46.3%, followed by the city hall – 36.3%, the Constitutional Court – 35.1% appreciation, the Government – 25.2%, the County Council – 20.6%, the Parliament – 10.9% and political parties 7.6%.
The top of executive institutions is led by the Army – 73.8% in Romanians’ confidence, followed by the Gendarmerie – 63.7%, DNA – 60%, Police – 51.7%, SRI – 50.3%, BNR – 49.5% SIE – 48% ICCJ (Supreme Court) – 42.7%, ANAF – 41.9%, ANI – 36.6%.
The standings of confidence in domestic social and private institutions is led by the Church – 61.2%, universities – 44.6%, media – 34.5%, civil society organizations – 30.5%, trade unions – 21.2%, employers – 18.7% and banks – 17.8%.
The rankings of international institutions is led by NATO, trusted much and very much by 57.6% of Romanians, compared to 62.1% in July. Next is the UN – 56.6%, the European Union – 52.7%, European Parliament – 47.8%, followed by the European Commission – 45.7%, the World Bank – 41% and International Monetary Fund – 33.9%.
The survey was conducted by INSCOP Research for ‘Adevarul’ newspaper during September 10-15 on a sample of 1,085 people and has a maximum error data of plus/minus 3% at a confidence level of 95%.
